Delilah ("No, no, Delilah!") is spunky Irish-marked girl. Despite lengthy interruptions for Prudence's knee surgery (2019), COVID (2020) and maternity leave (2022), her record in the show ring rivals that of her illustrious grandmother Lacey:
Three all-breed Best in Shows and four Reserve Best in Shows
Seven Owner-Handled Best in Shows
2021 BCOA National Specialty Best in Show
Seven regional Specialty Best in Shows
2021 Westminster Best of Breed
2021 Morris and Essex Best of Breed
113 Hound Group placements, including 37 Group Firsts
Defeated over 2,000 Borzoi and over 16,000 all-breed
Breed wins, Group placements, Best in Shows or Reserve Best in Shows under 113 different judges
She started her show career with great success, picking up both majors at the 2016 Houston World Series of Dog Shows at the tender age of 9 months. She was first in a very competitive Bred-by-Exhibitor class at the 2017 BCOA National Specialty. Though we could have easily finished her as a puppy, we let her mature and she finished by going Reserve Winners Bitch at the 2018 BCOA National Specialty. At the 2019 National she was Best of Opposite Sex and Best Owner-Handled. In 2020, Lila was the No. 1 (Dog News) or No. 2 (Canine Chronicle) Borzoi in All-Breed competition, No. 4 in Breed and the No. 22 Hound.
Her successes in 2021 were even greater, including two all-breed Best in Shows, Best of Breed at the BCOA National Specialty and a Hound Show Group 1. Delilah finished 2021 as the No. 1 Borzoi in Breed, All-Breed and Grand Champion points, the No. 10 Hound and the No. 80 dog.
While mostly handled by Brian Livingston, Gerry Thornton and Laura King, Delilah also shone in NOHS competition, with seven Owner-Handled Best in Show wins and becoming the first Platinum-level NOHS Borzoi.
In 2022, Delilah added not only a third Best in Show but also, more importantly, motherhood to her accomplishments, giving us a litter of three lovely girls from a breeding with Jenner (CH Swanmanor Jenerations Jenner).
2023 saw veteran Lila return to the show ring to be nationally ranked among the top 5 in both Breed and All-Breed with multiple Group wins. She became the sixth Borzoi to become a Platinum-level Grand Champion by going Best of Breed at both Greater Twin Cities Borzoi Club specialties.
Now in retirement, Delilah has graced us again with a litter of four handsome boys and one pretty girl from a breeding with Virago (BIS BISS DC Sylvan Seabury Virago SC FCH ROMX-C).
